Description

Chicken Stir Fry is a quick, healthy, and delicious meal combining tender chicken pieces with fresh, colorful vegetables and a savory natural sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep, this recipe offers a balanced dinner full of protein and vibrant flavors, ready in under 30 minutes with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

Vegetables

  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon natural gelling agent (optional, for thickening)

Additional

  • 12 tablespoons cooking oil (for stir frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients. Slice the chicken evenly into bite-sized pieces and chop the vegetables into similar sizes to ensure even cooking. Mince garlic and grate fresh ginger for the best flavor release.
  2. Make the Sauce. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and a pinch of natural gelling agent if a thicker sauce is desired. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cook the Chicken. Heat a large pan or wok over medium-high heat and add a splash of cooking oil. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté Vegetables. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger first, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the bell peppers and broccoli florets and stir-fry until crisp-tender, about 4 to 5 minutes, keeping them vibrant and crunchy.
  5. Combine and Finish. Return the chicken to the pan, pour in the sauce, and stir everything together. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes so the flavors meld perfectly and the sauce thickens slightly, coating every delicious bite.
  6. Garnish and Serve. Sprinkle sliced green onions over the finished stir fry. Serve hot over steamed jasmine rice, brown rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for a wholesome meal.

Notes

  • Use high heat to keep veggies crisp and chicken juicy without steaming.
  • Have all ingredients prepped before starting cooking to avoid rushed steps.
  • Cook chicken in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding and ensure perfect searing.
  • Use fresh ginger and garlic for best flavor impact.
  • Add a little natural gelling agent to adjust sauce thickness to your preference.
  • Add sesame oil last to retain its fragrant aroma.
