Instructions

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients and Combine: Add all-purpose flour, salt, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) to the yeast mixture. Stir and knead until a smooth dough forms, soft but not too sticky. Knead 5-7 minutes until elastic and fluffy.
  3. Let the Dough Rise: Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Shape Into Bites: Punch down the dough and roll into a long rope. Cut into 1-inch pieces to form bite-sized snacks.
  5. Baking Soda Bath: Bring water and baking soda to a gentle boil. Drop dough pieces in batches for 20-30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  6. Bake Until Golden: Arrange boiled bites on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush with melted plant-based butter, sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 220°C (425°F) for 12-15 minutes until golden and inviting.
