Honey Mustard Glaze
- 3 tbsp honey (natural)
- 3 tbsp Dijon mustard (natural)
- 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ¼ tsp natural gelling agent
Instructions
- Prepare the Tofu: Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture thoroughly. After pressing, cut the tofu into even, tender-sized strips that will bake evenly and hold the glaze well.
- Make the Honey Mustard Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together honey (natural), Dijon mustard (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and natural gelling agent until smooth and glossy.
- Bread the Tofu Tenders: Dip each tofu strip into the honey mustard glaze, then coat thoroughly in whole wheat breadcrumbs mixed with optional herbs and toasted sesame seeds. Repeat to create a double coating for extra crispiness. Place all coated tenders on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake Until Golden: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the tofu tenders for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
