Ideal for busy families, it is a versatile and visually appealing meal that pairs well with a variety of sides.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 slices smoked turkey bacon
  • 1 cup plant-based parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 cup plant-based heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp plant-based butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tsp natural gelling agent
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp and Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the smoked turkey bacon until crisp. Place it on paper towels to drain excess fat. Using the remaining fat in the skillet, sauté the shrimp about 2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove both shrimp and bacon from heat and set aside.
  2. Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: In a clean saucepan, melt the plant-based butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant without browning. Pour in the plant-based heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the plant-based parmesan cheese and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural). Whisk until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Gradually sprinkle in the natural gelling agent while stirring continuously to thicken the sauce to a creamy but firm consistency.
  3. Combine and Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a baking dish, evenly layer the cooked shrimp and smoked turkey bacon. Pour the garlic parmesan sauce over the top, spreading it to cover all ingredients. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the dish is bubbly and the top has a golden hue.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and allow to rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp as it can become rubbery; remove from heat as soon as it turns pink.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best aromatic flavor impact.
  • Add natural gelling agent slowly to control sauce thickness and avoid making it too thick or gummy.
  • Spread shrimp and bacon in a single layer for even flavor balance in every bite.
  • Finish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives for added freshness and color.
